It is often difficult to specify a standard rate, especially at a time when ever lower prices are becoming the norm – often at the expense of quality. Some prefer to charge per word, others per page, others per line. I adapt to my clients' wishes by preparing ad hoc quotes. Because I use Trados – a so-called Cat tool (computer-assisted translation) – I can offer discounts for repetitions within a text or long-term projects.
